Panos Kouros


Artist, art theorist, Associate Professor, University of Patras , Greece. His work links critical art practice to architecture, urban culture and politics of memory. It involves performing archives as public sphere, collective actions, field and network interventions, critique of institutions. Recent projects are initiated as independent platforms for communication actions in specific urban situations. He is co-founder of Gregorios Pharmakis collective and member of Urban Void urban action group. He has been Research Fellow at the Center for Advanced Visual Studies (CAVS), MIT, and Researcher at the Institute of Cultural Studies at Humboldt University . He has published various studies on media culture, education and contemporary art. Recent books: Constructing the Public Sphere: Topical Works 2002-07, Athens : Futura, 2007, Acts of Uttering-together, Athens : Futura, 2008, Archive Public, 2012.
