Pepa Prieto


Pepa Prieto (b. 1973), Granada Spain, active Brooklyn, New York.) was awarded the Residency at CCA Andratx, Mallorca, Spain, 2102 and The Fountainhead Residency, Miami, FL, 2010.


Prieto has had solo exhibitions at Circuit 12 Contemporary, Dallas, TX; Iguapop Gallery, Barcelona, Spain; Panta Rhei Gallery, Madrid, Spain, and Centro Principe de Asturias, Madrid, Spain. Her work has also been featured in group exhibitions at Mirus Gallery, SanFrancisco, CA; Mikser House, Belgrade, Serbia; National Gallery Amman, Jordan; Villa Audi Foundation, Beirut, Lebanon; BAC. Barcelona Arte Contemporany, Spain, and The Institute Cervantes, Madrid, Spain.


Pepa Prieto’s work has been featured in books such as Beautiful Decay, Volume 5, 2011; Picnic, Promo Press, 2011; Side Ways, Die Gelstalten, 2009, and The Tote Bag, curated by Jitesh Patel and published by Laurence King, 2011. Her work has also been included in select publications such as: WAD; IDN; Elle Magazine; Blonde; AD; Wall Paper Magazine; Foam Magazine; Elephant; El Pais, El Mundo, among others.


She received her BFA and MFA in Painting from the University Complutense in Madrid, Spain.
