Fanis Fotiou, a lighthouse keeper in a remote island, has decided to spend his time reading the great classics of world literature. His loneliness becomes almost unbearable but an unexpected contact with a policeman who is crazy about cinema and a porter with his donkey helps him keep his spirits up.
